新竹的中級山區是蘭花的天堂，一年四季都有蘭科植物開花，只是有些花著實太小，必須細心尋找才不致於錯過。阿里山莪白蘭算是比較常見的莪白蘭，花紅褐色或橘紅色，花徑約1mm，也是給螞蟻看的花，如果不拍特寫簡直看不清楚花的細部。

阿里山莪白蘭(Lecanorchis triloba) is one of the more common species of Lecanorchis. Its flowers are reddish-brown or orange-red, with a diameter of about 1mm—essentially flowers meant for ants. Without a close-up shot, it is almost impossible to see the intricate details of the flowers.
